About FoundationMatch
FoundationMatch (foundationmatchusa.com) is a referral service for homeowners with a cracked wall, a wet basement, a damp crawl space or a sinking floor.
What we are, and what we are not
We are not a foundation company: we employ no one who pours, pins, seals or digs, hold no contractor license, set no prices and give no engineering advice. We write pages and tools, we send your request to one independent company when you ask us to, and that company pays us for the request.
Everything else on the site is there to make that conversation go better for you.
Why the diagnosis comes first
In most trades the person who tells you what is wrong is not the person who sells the fix. In this one they often are. A crack can be a harmless sign of curing concrete or the first sign of a wall that is moving, and the person who decides which is frequently paid only if the answer is a repair.
So the site pushes you to get a written read from an engineer, or at least a second opinion from someone with no repair to sell, before you agree to structural work. We say it on the service pages, in the crack tool and in the guides, even though it will sometimes mean a request we never send.
What our prices are, and are not
We show cost evidence we can source: what workers are paid, what cities charge for permits and any price a government agency publishes. Beside it, each service carries an estimated range. Every estimate is labeled as a model, not a quote, and says what it was built from. Where we have no source for a number, we do not print one.
The standard we hold ourselves to
The editorial policy lists the rules every page follows and the way to report an error. The how it works page explains what happens to your request, and the partner page explains what we ask of companies.
