The DallasNow Terminology Reference Guide describes the Foundation Repair Permit as covering structural repairs or alterations to a foundation, especially where piers, underpinning systems or slab corrections are involved. In most cases the application must include a structural engineer's report, a post-repair inspection may be required, and only a holder of what the guide calls an LP designation may obtain it.
