Exhibit C of the fee schedule, adopted April 23, 2026 under Resolution R-26-0200, sets residential work up to three units at 0.50% of estimated construction cost. It lists $45.00 for residential work estimated under $2,500 and a $110.00 minimum permit fee. Exhibit C prints nothing for foundations, shoring, underpinning or structural repair. State and county surcharges aren't included.
Section 10-5 of the city code exempts a repair only when it's small-scale maintenance that doesn't involve structural components. Miami-Dade County's exemption page says structural work always requires permits, even under $7,500, and the state statute, s. 553.79(1)(g), names structural work on a single-family dwelling as outside its exemption. After a severe weather event, county code section 8-16 bars repairing a structure that's damaged, collapsed or out of plumb until the Building Official approves.

Permits for foundation repair work in Miami
DBPR has no foundation repair license category, so the permit rules come from your city or county. Florida requires a permit to repair a building, the $7,500 small-job exemption leaves out structural work, and Tampa has its own Foundation Stabilization permit with sealed plans and engineering reports, so ask the building office for your address what your job needs.
